Amendment of some immigration and residence laws for foreigners

A law that amends and supplements part of the immigration, transit, and residence laws for foreigners in Vietnam has been passed by the Diet.

If a foreigner re-enters Vietnam using Vietnam's visa exemption measures, the provisions that require a period of 30 days or more from the previous departure date to the re-entry date will be abolished.

There are also many new provisions that make it easier for foreigners to stay in Vietnam, such as extending the validity period of residence cards issued to foreign investors investing in Vietnam to a maximum of 10 years. It will be easier to go to Vietnam.

The law will enter into force on 1 July 2020.
